SPORT

LaSalle Catholic College is a coeducational secondary school catering for the sporting needs of our students.

Students in Years 7-11 all participate in a weekly sports program that operates on a Thursday afternoon.   The College provides students with the opportunity to participate in sport as a normal curricular activity as well as at a representative level.  Doctor’s appointments and other personal business are not to be arranged for Thursday afternoons.  It is normal school time and therefore usual attendance requirements exist.

Whole school Swimming and Athletics Carnivals are held each year.  The College Cross Country Carnival is open to any student who would like to complete.

REPRESENTATIVE SPORT

Representative sport has played a large part in the history of LaSalle Catholic College. Sport provides our students with a sense of belonging, pride and achievement. We believe that the life long lessons that can be learned on the sporting arena, such as respect, self-discipline and dedication, can be transferred to other areas of their lives.

The College is a member of the Metropolitan Catholic College Sports Association (MCC) for boys and Sydney Catholic Colleges Association (SCC) for girls.

If a student wishes to participate in a competitive sport and has the approval of his or her parents, the opportunity is available for them to receive coaching and be a member of a College representative team.

Representative Sport involves compulsory training sessions and a commitment to good conduct and behaviour.  Representative Sport is normally played on Thursday afternoons with training taking place on a Tuesday after school.  On Thursday sport afternoon, students depart the College by bus depending on the venue and normally return to the College by approximately 3.30pm.
