Lasallian schools implement the philosophy of
Catholic and Christian education of youth developed by St. John Baptist de La
Salle (1680-1719).
The College strives through a comprehensive school curriculum to provide quality
education, where each student attains their personal excellence.
LaSalle Catholic College has as its ideal:
"Educating for ∙commitment ∙confidence ∙success"
• Commitment – personal growth and academic achievement are achieved by
commitment. Students are encouraged to develop the gifts they have been given
and help others to do the same
• Confidence is the key to learning. Confidence builds independence
and self esteem. Students are challenged to remove self imposed limitations and
believe in themselves.
• Success is held up as something that can be experienced and should be
expected. Success comes when people work together to achieve goals, to tale
initiative and preserve. Dedication, discipline and determination are expected.
Each member of the school community contributes to the achievements of these
goals. Effort and success are acknowledged to promote and encourage commitment,
confidence and success.
The following ideals for each of its students are characteristic of the College:
• The achievement of one’s potential
• The improvement of one’s character
• A sense of self worth
• A commitment to the truth
