LaSalle Catholic College was
formed in 1999 as a result of the amalgamation of De La Salle College, Bankstown
(1951-1998) and Benilde Catholic High School (1968-1999). It was established to
provide a continuous pathway for students from the Bankstown region to complete
their secondary education.
LaSalle Catholic College combines the history and traditions of the previous
schools and enjoys the excellent resources and facilities built up by these
generous and highly professional school communities.
LaSalle Catholic College draws on the traditions of the De La Salle Brothers, a
tradition that began in France almost 350 years ago by Saint John Baptist De La
Salle, and thus belongs to a worldwide network of schools found in 83 countries,
all proud to call themselves Lasallian, and all based on similar ideals.
