Curriculum at LaSalle


LaSalle Catholic College offers students a wide range of subjects and academic opportunities. Students move from a largely compulsory curriculum in Years 7 to 10 to a curriculum characterized by a wide choice in Years 11 and 12.

YEAR
7 to 10 CURRICULUM –
School Certificate (Stages 4 & 5)


Compulsory subjects for Years 7 & 8:
Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Music, Italian, Design and Technology, Visual Arts, Personal Development/Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) and Sport.

Compulsory subjects for Years 9 & 10:

Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science, Australian History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship, PDHPE and Sport

Elective subjects for Years 9 & 10:
Commerce, Information and Software Technology, Graphics Technology, Food Technology, Design and Technology, Industrial Technology, Visual Arts, Music, Sports Science, Italian

Industrial technologyYEAR 11 and 12 CURRICULUM –
Higher School Certificate (Stage 6)


Compulsory subjects for Years 11 & 12:
Religious Education (Studies of Religion in 11 and 12 or Catholic Studies in 12), English, Sport (Representative or recreational)

Elective subjects for Years 11 & 12
Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Senior Science(Yr12), Economics, Business Studies, Legal Studies, Ancient History Modern History, Geography, Music, Visual Arts, PDHPE, Software Design & Development, Information Processes & Technology, Industrial Technology, Design and Technology, Food Technology, Italian, Photography, Fundamentals of English.

Vocational Education Courses in Years 11 & 12(on-site):
Construction, Entertainment, Hospitality, Information Technology, Business Services – Office Administration

TAFE Courses in Years 11 & 12 (off-site):
Students can access a wide variety of TAFE courses which provides training in a future career. The Bankstown TAFE (located next to the College) offer a range of courses including: Accounting, Banking & Finance, Beauty Therapy, Child Studies, Hairdressing, Marketing, Real Estate, Tourism and Travel.
